DiverLog App Reviews
I used to download dives and update settings all the time, but with the latest release it is reboot, reboot, connect, reboot, finally work for settings. Now trying to download dive data from OCI, well lets just say, it isnt working!
Finally a great, very easy to use app that works with my dive computer the Genesis React pro. Had a small issue but contacted Diverlog Support and they responded immediately and within days solved the issue for me. Great customer support.
Although this application appears polished, there are a couple of issues that should be addressed. The first appears to be a bug where that app freezes and must be killed. The second is the lack of import/export options. At the moment only DAN DL7 is supported which is quite limiting. I would suggest adding at least UDDF so people can import their complete log information. The firmware update feature works well and I still have to play with the sync feature for the iOS application of the same name.
The first Dive Log with cloud service (online storage). I love the share function, You do not need the Log software to view a shared profile. I love it…Love it…And lot more to enjoy, highly recommended.
Advertised as working for the Oceanic Geo 2.0. Other programs (e.g. MacDive) work fine with my dive computer. I bought this to be able to do updates but it recognizes computer as "invalid". Dont waste your money. I strongly suggest MacDive instead.
Should have paid better attention. I expected App to work but like previous reviewer I am unable to connect to Oceanic Pro Plus 3. I am still waiting to hear from support. If I am able to connect the DC I expect the app will be deserving of several more stars but until then I am not a fan.
This app has a ton of features but I think the map pin feature is the coolest. With it I can mark the exact location of the dive site I was at, and I wont forget. The cloud storage holds my dives which is great, but I can also use it to share them too. Now I can actually give my friends an idea of what Im doing everytime dive. This app and the divecloud system has given new life to my log book.
this looked like a great app until i tried to download my dives i have a oceanic VT4 dive computer and it will not download any of my dives from the dive computer it downloads my personal information just fine but no dive info, i contacted diverlog after i tried everything in the help on the app, they sent me an email telling me to do everything i had just done from the help section, i retried everything including uninstalling and reinstalling sent an email back telling everything i did that they ask, i did not hear from them for 2days so i contacted them back and was told it must be a software bug that they will have to fix, i ask if they would contact me when it was fixed they said they would, but had no expected time frame to fix it, to pay $24.99 for an app that doesnt work right off the bat and they are not in any hurry to fix,and they are not interested in giving a refund for is not right, when and if i am ever contacted that this is fixed, if it works i will update this review and rise rating level, the idea is good if it worked
I have tried other apps to log my dives. I have to say Diverlog blows these other app out the water. I own a Oceanic VT 4 with a lot of dives, this app was able to add my DC and dives without a problem. The features on this app are great, I can share photos of my dives with my friends in my Social sites. I love how I am able to save my settings from Diverlog to my DC. This makes it way easier to set everything up on my laptop and go dive. I also recently bought my wife a OCi, we tried to add her DC to diverlog with no success. Which is why I am giving them 4 stars, but I contacted the Diverlog tech support email. They were very nice and informative, letting me know that the OCi will be supported in the new Diverlog update, which we are excited about.
This app is a toatl waste of time.. I spent hours typing in my old dives from my paper log over 3 days.. I saved afer each dive and then on the 4th day all the dives were GONE… no way to recover them.. it was like I neve did all that work.. There is NO way to sync with an iOS device or access the log remotely… No iCloud support instead they have some “dive cloud thing” that cost more and does less… Clearly this is software made by a hardware company … skip it and move on to Mac Dive...
Don’t waste your time trying to make this app work, I tried for several hours. Every time I would manually add information on one dive it would change information on other dives to match. Then like magic all the manually entered information would disappear and no way to recover. A waste of money and time.
While a year ago DiverLog was able to import dives from an Oceanic OC1, the current version 1.1.3 broke imports. It appears that regression testing is not employed across the product’s feature set, where importing from a dive computer is a basic feature. Additionally exporting dives in DL7 format yields files which are not accepted by PADI, MacDive, etc or even Oceanic’s own OceanLog! I’m not sure what the best dive log software application is, but this rates as one of the worst where OceanLog is right behind it. Oceanic does not appear to put much attention into their PC/Mac software. My only hope is that they have done better with the firmware in the dive computer.
I have an Aeris 300. The install is easy and it prompts you to download the necessary “driver” you need for your specific computer. The sync and download process went fast and easy also. You end up with a complicated looking screen of boxes and all of your data; the bar graph looks pretty cool though. I think it would be a lot cooler if they made it look like a real dive logbook. My only problem with it is the format when you have to enter the specific data such as location, visibility, air temp, dive buddies, all of these are very slow to fill in. If I enter one dive location for a dive and the same location for the next dive the software does not add all the location data i have already entered for that site. Same with the tanks when i select the 100 steal tank i also have to enter my starting and ending PSI, it would be nice if it would default to 3,100 since that is what I start at each time, Also my computer is connected to my air supply so why isn’t this recorded already for me. Overall it’s not perfect but it does provide a consistent format to record your dives in a lot of detail.
After 2 days of working with support to determine why my supported dive computer would not update firmware, I was informed that it doesn’t really support my Oceanic VT3. This is after calls to Oceanic telling me to call Palegic to get it working, and 2 days of back and forth with Palegic. Nobody knows this product and nobody seems to know their dive computers. My suggestion is to avoid not only this software, but any dive computer that requires it to log and manage your computer. Total garbage. It has all the nifty cloud nonesense to archive photos, and youtube videos, but fails at the basics, like updating firmware bugs that could lead to life threatening errors.
I had a problem getting this working, but their tech support helped me out in a day over the weekend. Very nice tool with my Oceanic ProPlus 3. Fully featured and seems to work smoothly on my Mac under OSX 10.10. Note that this computer requires USB drivers downloaded, and you should use “Other Models” as the driver choice.
I just downloaded the full Diverlog app, only to find that it won’t sync with my ipad air. I have to buy the mobile app also. $24.99 for the full app, and no mobile sync capability, not right!!!! Read the fine print, if you can find it. Don’t buy the full version if you expect to sync with you mobile device.
